Draw using 3D Lines with Photorealistic Textures in Augmented Reality

3DBrush by Ilya Rimchikov is an AR drawing app for iOS. Unlike some other AR drawing apps like Draw a Line, World Brush, or Blue Sky Paint—with 3D Brush, you can actually draw a 3-dimensional line that has depth. In other words, instead of being a flat 2D line drawn in the 3D space, you have a thick line, like a toothpaste that is drawn in the 3D space, so it takes more volume.

Because of this, textures and proper reflections makes the line appear realistic. For example, if you use the stone texture, it looks like stone, if you use the snakeskin texture, it looks like a snakeskin one. I personally like the gold foil one. There is a large selection of textures for you to choose from.

That change compared to other AR drawing apps makes a big difference as you can see in this video review I captured near Osaka castle. I’ve played with it quite a lot and enjoyed it. Leaving my bad drawing abilities aside, you can still see the difference between a standard AR drawing app than this one. I am not saying that the other ones are less good, of course not, they are just different. I’ve seen people making amazing drawings with AR drawing apps. It’s up to you to choose the one that best fits what you want to create It’s a drawing tool, after all, nothing more. it’s up to the creator to make great things with it.

Just keep in mind that unlike some other AR paint apps that I tried, this one lacks saving option, collaboration drawing and other advanced features that some other drawing AR apps have.

I hope you enjoy my review, see you soon on the next review.
